One of my fondest childhood memories is waking up on a Saturday morning to the smell of fresh pizza baking in the oven. It was a special treat for us, Pizza for breakfast!!! We lived in New York in the early 50’s and my parents, Arturo and Lita Fernandez would get together with their Italian neighbors on Friday evening--Dad kneading the pizza dough and Mom preparing the rich, thick tomato sauce. The wonderful smell of pizza coming from the kitchen would draw many of the neighborhood children to play in our yard. Mom’s Filipino hospitality allowed each child to sample her pizza pie. Needless to say, we were quite popular on Saturdays.
We moved back to Manila in 1956. My parents would make pizza for their family and friends who enjoyed it so much they encouraged them to open a restaurant. So on April 1, 1957, with borrowed tables and chairs, “Di’ Mark’s Pizza Garden” opened for business. Named after my youngest brother Marky, the restaurant was located in the garden of our residence on Menlo Road, Pasay City, down the street from the “American School”.Di’ Mark’s soon became a favorite place to take the family or to enjoy a cozy, romantic dinner for two.
Today, after almost 5 decades, we take pride in bringing you the same home-cooked, quality food and service that my parents started in 1957. As my children love to say, “Di Mark’s is the Family Restaurant where Mama runs the kitchen and Papa promotes the fun!!!”

Each Di’ Mark’s Pizza is made with our very own fresh dough, homemade processed tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, oregano and authentic olive oil – the big difference in pizza!
